Starting a New Journey!
For the last 4 years, I have been in the country rock band Wasted Highway. We have had immense success locally and have become one of the biggest acts in the state. I am very proud of everything we have been able to accomplish! Having said that, I have decided that now is the time to go out on my own and try my hand at a solo career. I will always have love for my brothers in the band and will still play with them whenever possible. However, it has always been my dream to write and record my own music, get my music out to masses, and become a national touring artist. It is a risky move, but it is one I have to make if I want to take my career to the next level. I have support and backing now, with good connections that most are not lucky enough to have. I would be a fool to not go all out right now and see what I can become.
Wasted Highway was a 4 hour party every show! And as much fun as it was, I want to focus more on my original music now. I will still play different types of shows, and covers that you all know and love, but the focus will just be a little different. I will also use several members of Wasted Highway as my backing band whenever possible, so certain things won't look that different at all. For the super fans of Wasted Highway, have no worries! The band will continue on with or without me! If you are like many and live to see Wild Willie running around the crowd and jumping on bars, that is not going anywhere!
My first move as a solo artist was to release my first single "Old Man" on July 14, 2021. It has already received great reviews and radio airplay! I am extremely thankful to all who have helped to make this recording possible, including MRL Talents for funding the project, Ian Wenzel, Yuriy Fomin, Ben Curran, and Josh Rector for recording amazing instrumental parts, Chris Steffan at Studio PH for letting us use his awesome room, Matty Sanders for producing and engineering, Jeremy Wurst at Coyote Face Recording for mixing the track, and Doug Van Sloan at Focus Mastering for mastering the track. I also want to thank Corey Jones for his great work on the music video, Ross for letting use his truck for the shoot, Trent for helping with the shoot and letting us crash at his place, and Joey for letting us use his land for the video shoot and being so hospitable. I also want to thank all my friends, family, and fans, for listening to the song and sharing it, and the many radio stations who have spun the tune, you are awesome! More than anyone I want to thank my wife Milissa for her support and understanding. Through this whole process I have been away a lot in the studio, on the road at shows, etc. I am eternally grateful for her love and support through this journey! Without everybody listed above, none of this would be possible!
You can find the single on any and every digital streaming platform, Spotify, Apple Music, Itunes, Amazon Music, Google Play Music, Youtube, etc. I have also finished up 4 more songs in the studio, working with mostly the same people. I am very excited about these songs and plan to release them later this year! Also later this year I plan to go on a nationwide tour to support this release and my new solo project. Most dates will be acoustic, with a few with full band. I will be announcing my tour dates very soon. In the mean time I plan to play out the rest of the Wasted Highway Shows that we had booked. We still have several great shows left, so make sure you stop out to at least one more before we take a brief hiatus.
Besides the remaining Wasted Highway shows, you can catch me locally a few times before I leave for tour. I will be playing an acoustic show opening for Derek Jones at Philly Sports Bar and Grill on Aug 6, I will be with a full band playing at Stocks n Bonds on Aug 22, as part of a Military/Veteran Appreciation day, and September 16 I will be with a full band at Stocks n Bonds opening for Tom O'Connor.
I am so excited for this next chapter, and can't wait to see what comes next. I have a feeling a lot of very exciting things are going to be happening, and I want to be able to share it with all of you! Thank you for all of your support, and make sure and check back often for news and announcements!
